Charlotte International Women's Day - 3/8/2017

Charlotte International Women's Day, held at Midwood International and Cultural Center, was a fantastic event! Approximately 300 people attended, including Mayor Jennifer Roberts, who gave a rousing and impassioned speech on empowering women. City Councilwomen Julie Eiselt and Dimple Ajmera were also present.

Two TV news outlets, Time Warner Cable news and Norsan News Media, covered the event. Other members of the press present included The Asian Herald and La Noticia.

Local organizations supporting women’s rights and causes were present and a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department recruiting officer had a booth to recruit more women for the police force.

Many thanks to local international restaurants providing delicious food including Mama’s Caribbbean, Grand Asia Market, Red Sea and The Cooking Pot.

Thank you, as well, to the Charlotte International Women's Day Committee for producing this event.
