Mother of Six Finds Help and Hope at International House

Sulejmana Salic came to Charlotte as a refugee from Bosnia in 1999. International House’s immigration law clinic helped her obtain legal citizenship in the US and she couldn’t be happier or more grateful. “International House helped me more than I ever could have imagined. I can’t say thank you to them enough!” she said. Ms. Salic, a mother and grandmother, was pleased with the help she received from Anne Crotty, Immigration Attorney and Jelena Giric-Held, Paralegal. Because she couldn’t speak English, Ms. Salic was especially relieved to meet Ms. Giric-Held, who is fluent in Bosnian and explained the legal issues involved.
