The Ginter Immigration Law Clinic at International House provides legal assistance in immigration matters to individuals and families of all nationalities who qualify for our services. Generally, low-income residents (those earning less than 200% of the federal poverty guidelines) living in the Greater Charlotte area who qualify for some immigration benefit may be eligible for our services. We also serve refugees and asylees in most cases without regard to income. For information about our clients and services, please review our Ginter Immigration Law Clinic webpage.
International House also provides English language instruction and U.S. civics instruction. These classes and tutoring help clients improve their English and prepare for the citizenship test administered by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). For information about our Education program, please start with our English Classes webpage.
A partnership of Charlotte area refugee service providers hosts the annual World Refugee Day Charlotte. The event hosts have compiled a list of agencies that provide services to refugees. Please use this list of local agencies that serve refugees to find information about resources and services.
