You may have recently read that CMS is in the process of selling 1817 Central Ave, our current home, and while our Board of Directors are diligently evaluating the future location of International House, we cannot allow it to distract us from the important work we do every day. While brick and mortar are important, they are not nearly as important as you or the community we serve.
Your support helps us provide essential, life-changing services to our clients and students.
This summer our education staff will work with Camp CMS to provide intensive tutoring to 400 kindergarten through third grade English language learners, helping close the educational gap that has been widened by COVID.
Our business sector continues to learn from its peers around the globe through Citizen Diplomacy Programming. One such program was a recent forum where non-profit leaders gathered together to discuss how they pivoted and prevailed during the last year. I was grateful that I could participate and hear from my peers. This experience reminded me just how small our globe is and that my colleagues around the world are having similar experiences that I am.
Our immigration law clinic continues to assist clients regardless of their ability to pay nominal service fees. This is so important! As a pathway to citizenship is vital for family sustainability. It leads to permanent employment and higher wages. But right now, our clients are barely making ends meet, and we don’t want them to have to choose between quality legal representation and utility or grocery bills.
The work we do is vital to the health of our community, and we cannot do it without you. We will continue to carry out our mission no matter where we are physically located. Please help us do so by making a donation today. No matter the size of your gift, it will make a difference to those we serve.
I thank you in advance for your generosity.
Sincerely,
Autumn Weil
Executive Director
International House
