Tapas & Testimonials: Year Two

Updated: Apr 3

It’s hard to believe it has been almost a year since International House’s first Tapas & Testimonials event!

Last September, sponsors, volunteers, and other friends of International House came together to celebrate and show their support for our mission to help Charlotte thrive by helping our foreign-born and foreign-rooted neighbors thrive.

Guests tasted international cuisine from Greece to the Caribbean and bid on silent auction items, including internationally themed gift baskets and artwork from The Journey.

Our volunteers and event committee worked hard to ensure a well-planned event and were available before the event to cleaning up late into the night.

There was a mariachi band, bagpipes player, and DJ taking turns sharing the stage on the Mint Museum lawn.

Thank you to all our Sponsors for supporting Tapas & Testimonials. The work we do each and every day supports our mission of helping immigrants and international culture thrive right here in Charlotte.

This year, we will continue the tradition at The Revelry (Camp North End) on Friday, October 20, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

There are gorgeous photos of this exciting, modern space you'll enjoy soon here.

You will have opportunities to mingle and get to know each other better again, and the event will also include more delicious international dishes and a chance to bid on unique silent auction items.

In addition to reviving those highlights from last year’s event, we are excited and honored to amplify three testimonials from members of our community at this year’s event.

Everything we do at International House, from our legal clinic to our educational programs and cultural clubs, shares the central purpose of extending a sense of belonging to everyone who joins the Charlotte community.

The opportunity to hear individuals’ testimonials is not only gratifying but also edifying and inspiring as we move forward in helping people develop their stories and feel welcome to integrate authentically in the community.

We are looking forward to hearing your stories, exchanging ideas, and celebrating the cultural richness immigrants bring to our greater Charlotte community.

Thank you for all the ways you support International House and our community. We cannot wait to see you at The Revelry in October!
